ABSTRACT
The facilitates chromatin transcription (FACT) complex is involved in remodeling during transcription, replication, and DNA repair. FACT was previously considered to be ubiquitously expressed not associated with any disease. However, we discovered that the target of a class anticancer compounds normal cells adult mammalian tissues, except for undifferentiated stem-like cells. Here, show expression strongly poorly differentiated aggressive cancers low overall survival. In addition, found upregulated vitro transformation necessary, but sufficient, driving transformation. also promoted survival growth established tumor Genome-wide mapping chromatin-bound indicated FACT's role cancer most likely involves selective genes stimulate proliferation, inhibit cell death differentiation, regulate cellular stress responses.
