ABSTRACT
Dengue virus (DENV) is a major human pathogen causing millions of infections yearly. Despite intensive investigations, DENV receptor that directly participates in internalization has not yet been characterized. Here, we report the phosphatidylserine TIM-1 an authentic entry plays active role endocytosis. Genetic ablation strongly impaired infection. Total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy analyses live infected cells show mostly confined clathrin-coated pits and co-internalized with during viral entry. ubiquitinated at two lysine residues its cytoplasmic domain, this modification required for Furthermore, STAM-1, component ESCRT-0 complex involved intracellular trafficking cargos, interacts Overall, our results first bona fide identified DENV.
