Efficient and fair PPO-based integrated scheduling method for multiple tasks of SATech-01 satellite

ABSTRACT
SATech-01 is an experimental satellite for space science exploration and on-orbit demonstration of advanced technologies. The equipped with 16 payloads supports multiple working modes to meet the observation requirements various payloads. Due limitation platform power supply data storage systems, proposing reasonable mission planning schemes improve scientific revenue becomes a critical issue. In this article, we formulate integrated task scheduling as multi-objective optimization problem propose novel Fair Integrated Scheduling Proximal Policy Optimization (FIS-PPO) algorithm solve it. We use decision heads generate decisions each design action mask ensure schedule meeting constraints. Experimental results show that FIS-PPO could push capability limit overall efficiency by 31.5% compared rule-based plans currently used. Moreover, fairness considered in reward our method achieves much better performance terms equal opportunities. Because its low computational complexity, has potential be directly deployed on board real-time future projects.
