ABSTRACT
Oxidative ageing and moisture damage are key factors in bitumen degradation asphalt pavement deterioration. The effects of oxygen on governed by their transport reaction processes. This paper provides an overview theories concepts developed to describe the kinetics, thermodynamics mechanisms within bitumen. moisture- oxygen-induced changes physicochemical mechanical properties also discussed. aim is summarize literature findings conclusions discuss possibilities establishing coupled moisture-oxygen models be used for long-term performance predictions.
