ABSTRACT
The work involves a three-dimensional numerical analysis of the buoyancy-driven heat transfer in an enclosure having four heated cylinders for Rayleigh number, Ra = 104-106, and Prandtl Pr 0.7. An in-house direct simulation code, finite volume-based immersed boundary method incorporates inner cylinder's virtual wall computes governing transport equations. Heat flow characteristics at different spacing between are discussed by using vortices isotherms. effect on three-dimensionality features captured reported. Limitations two-dimensional capturing physics problem importance present study highlighted.
