ABSTRACT
This study evaluated the reactivity of membrane antigens Leishmania (Viannia) braziliensis for diagnosis ACL by enzyme immunoassay (EIA). Promastigotes L. (V.) were grown in medium 199 and lysed a sonicator. Sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) Western blotting showed that specific proteins (apparent molecular weights 36 kDa 48-56 kDa) recognized sera from patients. These eluted SDS-PAGE tested EIA-IgG with patients, healthy individuals, patients toxoplasmosis, paracoccidioidomycosis, syphilis, tuberculosis, leprosy, Chagas disease. The allowed us to distinguish individuals other diseases (P < 0.0001), sensitivity 93.3% specificity 90.8%, not including disease 2D-SDS-PAGE followed was performed improve characterization antigens, component isoelectric points near acid pH side apparent kDa. results good indicating their potential use ACL, as well seroepidemiological surveys follow-up clinically cured
