Divide and recombine approach for warranty database: estimating the reliability of an automobile component

ABSTRACT
The continuously updated database of failures and censored data numerous products has become large, on some covariates, information regarding the failure times is missing in database. As dataset large information, analysis tasks complicated a long time required to execute programming codes. In such situations, divide recombine (D&R) approach, which practical computational performance for big analysis, can be applied. this study, D&R approach was applied analyze real field an automobile component with incomplete covariates using Weibull regression model. Model parameters were estimated expectation maximization algorithm. results simulation demonstrated that applicable analyzing datasets. Further, percentiles reliability functions distribution under different covariate conditions evaluate these covariates. findings study have managerial implications design decisions, safety, components.
