ABSTRACT
To further investigate the effects of positive eating on health, present study focused associations Positive Eating Scale (PES, Pleasure when and Satisfaction with subscales) behaviors, food intake, body mass index (BMI) in a large sample general Swiss population. Participants (T1: n = 2795, 46.7 % men; T2: 1931, 46.5 men) mean age 60 (SD 16) years at T1 (2019) 62 15) T2 (2021) completed Food Panel 2.0 paper-and-pencil questionnaire which included PES, BMI. The results showed that both restrained reward response to emotions were mostly negatively correlated PES subscales for men women, whereas intuitive eating, diet-related health consciousness, perceived status positively related subscales. Women tended choose healthier foods recorded higher satisfaction. BMI was subscale (β -0.17) 0.08) despite rather small correlations choices better diet quality. No significant change detected over two-year period. Since diverging other behavior constructs, combination into total score may not be optimal. Overall, associated more balanced habits status.
