ABSTRACT
The inescapable phenomenon of growth due to urbanization is witnessed by urban centres. rate an area can be attributed a number factors that play pivotal role in depicting the land use dynamics. need identify, quantify and analyse drivers essential understand fast growing agglomeration like Lucknow, capital most populous state, Uttar Pradesh India. In this study within planning was analysed for year 1993, 2003 2013 using certain bio-physical proximity affecting pattern city. Factors maps were generated various years predicted 2023 integrated Logistic Regression based CA-Markov analysis embedded LULC Dynamics Modelling Platform v1.0 developed under ISRO Geosphere Biosphere Programme at IIRS, ISRO, Dehradun. predictions show city expected grow manifolds 441.2 sq. km from mere 53.6 1993. Results model successful infill but could not completely predict expansion phenomenon. results indicate integration remote sensing, GIS models provide important information related process useful planners preparing vision documents cities.
