ABSTRACT
The need for integration of various methods with Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographical Information System (GIS) techniques to increase accuracy in water exploration is undeniable. Spatial observation the translation effluent rivers influent as flow across crystalline rock-sedimentary rock contact (CRSRC) led incorporation proximity thematic layer into GIS-based model this research. RS Digital Elevation Model data was used generation maps slope, lineament elevation while conventional were generate soil, drainage density proximity. Geological field mapping ground truthing gave rise geology Weighting layers consequently done by pair-wise comparison even modeling weighted overlay technique a GIS environment. Groundwater potential area revealed three zones: low zone coinciding rugged high relief areas; medium areas on basement lower relief; which occur sedimentary terrain within study area. In terms areal extent low, groundwater zones cover 249, 391 130 square kilometers respectively. map agrees reasonably conditions. However, drillers including government agencies keep such pumping test recommended it will aid validating models like this.
