It was hypothesized that colon cancer with only retroperitoneal invasion is associated a low risk of peritoneal dissemination. This study aimed to compare the metachronous metastases (mPM) between intraperitoneal and invasion.In this international, multicenter cohort study, patients pT4bN0-2M0 who underwent curative surgery were categorized as having (e.g. bladder, small bowel, stomach, omentum, liver, abdominal wall) or ureter, pancreas, psoas muscle, Gerota's fascia). Primary outcome 5-year mPM cumulative rate, assessed by Kaplan-Meier analysis.Out 907 pT4N0-2M0 cancer, 198 had documented pT4b category, comprising 170 only, 12 combined intra- invasion, 16 only. At baseline, R1 resection rate significantly differed: 4/16 for versus 8/172 +/- (p = 0.010). Overall, 22 developed during median follow-up 45 months. Two mPM, both following resection. The overall 13% any 14% (Log Rank, p 0.878), which 0%, respectively, in an R0 0.235).This suggests undergo have negligible but difficult prove because its rarity. observation might implications regarding individualized follow-up.
