ABSTRACT
The subject of mechanical metamaterials has been gaining significant attention, however, their widespread application is still halted. Such materials are usually considered as stand-alone, vis-\`a-vis all characteristic length scales being associated solely with geometry material itself. In this work we propose novel interface regions joining two potential replacing bulk adhesives. This idea leads into paradigm shifts for both and adhesive joints. specific, outline methodology testing evaluating confined lattice within fracture mechanics framework. theoretical numerical approaches inter-winded, revealing a set critical parameters that needs to be during design process. Lattices stretching bending dominated explored failure maps proposed, indicating susceptibility certain mode depending on level confinement dimension each lattice's unit cells.
