ABSTRACT
Humanitarian tents provide emergency shelter for people displaced by conflict and disaster in diverse climatic conditions. This article compares the thermal performance of two standard humanitarian – Standard Family Tent (SFT) Geodesic (GFT). The SFT is most widely used shelter, while GFT was recently introduced as a potential replacement intended to provide, inter-alia, improved performance. study aims assess extent which this intention achieved and, doing so, improve understanding about how tent material morphology affect Several variables, including internal air temperature, surface relative humidity change rates, were measured compared hot cold Results demonstrate that performs better than regarding radiant heat gain, conductive loss increased tightness. However, relation gain similar with an additional shade net. Other functional advantages are structural stability spaciousness, which, together performance, suggest marginal innovation design can positively impact living
