ABSTRACT
There are two main categories of surgical management for lateral TMT joints arthritis: fusion and motion preserving surgeries, which include resection arthroplasty, tendon interpositional arthroplasty ceramic arthroplasty. This article reports the first case interposition 5th joint with Dx Reinforcement Matrix®, a porcine dermal extracellular matrix. We present 22-year-old male who suffered motorcycle accident caused closed fractures 2nd, 3rd 4th metatarsal diaphysis, an articular fracture base impaction cuboid distal surface. Two years later, he presented pain in aspect midfoot radiographs CT scan showed fifth cuboid, post-traumatic arthritis joint. An acellular matrix (Dx Matrix® – Arthrex), was performed. At 3 follow-up, patient asymptomatic, had symmetric mobility comparatively to contralateral foot AOFAS Midfoot scale 100/100.From biomechanical point view, seems less desirable due column. Motion surgeries have been described, small series equivalent satisfactory results. We young isolated reported good clinical result at follow-up.
