ABSTRACT
The mammalian epididymis is a highly specialized region of the male reproductive tract that lined with continuous layer epithelial cells display remarkable level regionalized secretory and absorptive activity. luminal environment created by this combined activity directly responsible for promoting functional maturation spermatozoa their maintenance in quiescent viable state prior to ejaculation. This study was designed identify complement microRNAs (miRNAs) are expressed within mouse epididymal maturing populations spermatozoa. Through use Next Generation Sequencing technology we have demonstrated both harbour complex repertoire miRNAs substantially different expression profiles along length tract. These data, deposited Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) accession numbers GSE70197 GSE70198, afford valuable insight into post-transcriptional control gene provide first evidence dynamic transformation miRNA content sperm cells. Ultimately such information promises inform our understanding aetiology infertility. Herein detailed description methodology used generate these important data.
