ABSTRACT
Outbreak of COVID-19 seems to have exacerbated across the globe, including Bangladesh. Scientific literature on clinical data record patients in Bangladesh is inadequate. Our study analyzes positive based molecular identification and risk factor correlated with three variables (age, sex, residence) prevalence four districts Chattogram Division (Noakhali, Feni, Lakshmipur Chandpur) an aim understand trajectory this pandemic Chattogram, Southern Bangladesh.A cross-sectional conducted context RT-PCR-based 5,589 individuals diagnosed SARS-CoV-2 infection from testing laboratory, Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College, Noakhali-3800, For confirmation severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), standard diagnostic protocols through real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) were conducted. Different patient demographics analyzed using SPSS version 22 for exploring relationship factors - age, residence a cumulative number cases division. The was recorded between May July, 2020.Among parameters, present revealed that 20-40 cohort had highest incidence rate (51.80%, n = 2895) among different age groups. Among infected individuals, 56.8% (n 3177) male 43.2% 2412) female, denoting males being most susceptible disease. Urban residents (52.7%, 2948) more vulnerable than those residing rural areas (47.3%, 2641). Noakhali district 36.8% 2057), followed by Chandpur 25.9% 1448), 20.8% 1163) 16.5% 921), respectively. This presents statistical correlation certain linked confirmed patients, which will enable health practitioners policy makers take proactive steps control mitigate disease transmission.
