ABSTRACT
Our previous study in genetic mouse models found that NFATc1 and NFATc2 suppress osteochondroma formation from entheseal progenitors. However, it remains unclear whether NFAT signaling is also involved human osteochondromagenesis. As the first step addressing this question, current aimed to determine expression patterns of NFATC1 NFATC2 samples.Immunohistochemistry (IHC) was used examine analyze samples. The periosteum map under physiological conditions by IHC. Furthermore, periosteal progenitors were isolated identified tissues bone fracture healing patients. characterized Western blotting compared marrow stromal cells (BMSC).The IHC results showed undetectable most osteochondromas cells, only a small proportion especially clonally grown chondrocytes, positive staining NFATC1. chondrocytes osteochondromas. comparable ratio (9.56 ± 0.80% vs 11.04 2.05%, P = 0.3101). analysis revealed highly enriched BMSC.NFATC1 are chondrocytes. pattern normal suggests could be suppressed during
