ABSTRACT
Research on traffic accidents have acknowledged that human error is the leading cause of road around world. In UAE, those aged between 18 and 30 years are involved in most accidents. As a result, this study examines perception, attitude driving behavior young adults UAE. Virtual Reality (VR) was used to examine because it offers alternatives assess with high degree immersive experience safe replicable environment. Participants drove through virtual environment resembled urban Abu Dhabi which included six events. A sample 12 females 27 males also completed pre post-simulation questionnaire report evaluate their personal Dhabi. The volunteer group represented drivers limited diverse cultural backgrounds. Results indicated male were less adhering compared females. Even though both exceeded designated speed limit, traveled longer distances over limit. Additionally, found tend overestimate skills factors like gender, background, being key contributors. results indicate authorities should take into consideration different approaches formulation policies related periodic reassessment training enhance safety UAE region.
