Several difficulties been reported in accessing timely detection, causing late diagnosis. Trying to close these gaps, new devices developed recent years; however, there is lack knowledge about whether or not women perspective has included design process technological development devices. This scoping review aimed describe synthesize scientific literature women's critical experiences smears prospectively contribute design, development, scale-up The electronic databases Web Science, Scopus, PubMed, PsycINFO SciELO were searched for relevant studies published between 2012 2021; finally, 18 qualitative included. Experiences classified into four categories: fear embarrassment, speculum pain discomfort, outcome distress service barriers. Critical before, during, after test analyzed turn.
