ABSTRACT
The European mole cricket, Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa, feeds on a wide range of crops and can also damage plants with its burrowing activities. In suitable habitats (like those damp, rich soils in flood plains), G. gryllotalpa numbers increase to high levels. On the other hand, abundance has dramatically decreased north-western Europe partly due direct eradication excessive pest control. Using habitat suitability modelling, we identified areas for occurrence based previous reports environmental data. We limited our study area regions where is only known species. most important variables models were found be relative air humidity minimum soil temperature coldest month. suggest that limiting factor cricket Czech Republic because country experience temperatures just below 0 °C, while are from does not drop °C. have developed provide information possible occurrences thus improve decision-making process both field control conservation this
