ABSTRACT
In this work, the aqueous leaf extracts of three Ophiorrhiza genus species, namely mungos (Om), harrisiana (Oh) and rugosa (Or), have been used as reducing capping agents to control size AgNPs, Om-AgNPs, Oh-AgNPs Or-AgNPs, respectively found be an effective antimicrobial agent against a wide range bacteria fungi. The biosynthesized AgNPs were studied by UV-Visible spectrophotometer, powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray, transmission (TEM) Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR). average particle sizes Or-AgNPs measured 17 nm, 22 nm 26 respectively, observed spherical face-centered cubic crystals. antibacterial test synthesized was performed Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, Vibrio cholerae where maximum activity nano-size increasing silver content AgNPs. antifungal effect these types on Penicillium notatum Aspergillus niger also evaluated their growth with concentrations 450 μg/mL inhibited up 80-90% 55-70%, respectively. size-control synthesis using species is presented here for first time showed higher stability activities. Therefore, study might lead synthesize different morphologies plant same but from provide strong encouragement future applications in treating infectious diseases.
