Performance and satisfaction during the E-learning transition in the COVID-19 pandemic among psychiatry course medical students

ABSTRACT
In the field of medical education, students faced significant challenges during COVID-19 pandemic. Abrupt alterations were made in form preventative precautions. Virtual classes replaced onsite classes, clinical placements canceled, and social distance interventions prevented face-to-face practical sessions. The present study aimed to assess students' performance satisfaction before after transition a psychiatry course from entirely online pandemic.A retrospective, non-clinical, non-interventional comparative educational research included all registered psychiatric for academic year 2020 (pre-pandemic/onsite) 2021 (during pandemic/online).To satisfaction, we utilized National Commission Academic Accreditation Assessment (NCAAA) survey used by quality unit at KSU, College Medicine.Satisfaction was assessed six domains: organization, learning resources, faculty experiences, teaching, sessions, overall satisfaction. reliability questionnaire measured using Cronbach's alpha test.To their performance, grades both periods obtained exam center.A total 193 enrolled study; 80 received assessment, while another 113 full assessment. mean indicators courses exceeded corresponding significantly compared courses.
