ABSTRACT
The activins and inhibins are glycoproteins with a role in the follicular development of vertebrates, that found fluid somatic cells, different pattern among taxa. principal function activin (Act) is to modulate follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) synthesis secretion, whereas inhibin (Inh) downregulates it. Both factors modulators intraovarian recruitment, oocyte maturation, cell proliferation, steroidogenic activity. Our aim was characterize immunolocalization Act Inh ovarian follicles during reproductive cycle lizard Sceloporus torquatus. detected granulosa cells cortex stages development. On other hand, we identified cytoplasm pyriform small previtellogenic follicles. Also, immunoreactivity cortex, theca, vitellogenic preovulatory data provide evidence have changes related stage This dynamic appears be conserved vertebrates fundamental ensure an adequate this specie.
