ABSTRACT
The proximal convoluted tubule (PCT) of the kidney is a crucial functional segment responsible for reabsorption, secretion, and maintenance electrolyte water balance within renal tubule. However, there lack well-defined endogenous transgenic line studying PCT morphogenesis. By analyzing single-cell transcriptome data from adult zebrafish kidney, we have identified expression odd-skipped-related 2 (osr2, encodes an odd-skipped zinc-finger transcription factor) in PCT. To gain insight into role osr2 morphogenesis, generated Tg(osr2:EGFP), which expresses enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP). EGFP pattern closely mirrors that Osr2, thereby faithfully recapitulating its native profile. During development, can use to track also preserved zebrafish. Additionally, osr2:EGFP-labeled fragments displayed short lengths with infrequent overlap, rendering them conducive nephrons counting. Generation Tg(osr2:EGFP) accompanied by simultaneous disruption activity. Importantly, our findings demonstrate inactivation had no discernible impact on development regeneration nephrons. Overall, establishment this offers valuable tool both genetic chemical analysis
