ABSTRACT
Recycling solid industrial wastes into valuable materials is always the priority solution in waste management. In this perspective, sugar scum and fly ash were used to produce an effective low-cost porous ceramic membrane. The impacts of sintering temperature, amount scum, time on properties prepared membrane investigated optimized using experimental design. A simultaneous rise both temperature leads a notable increase porosity. Moreover, or decrease causes significant compressive strength. optimal conditions have been determined as 1197 °C, 12.06 %, 253 min. Under these conditions, density, porosity, strength found be 2.16 g/cm³, 34.66 28.24 MPa, respectively. addition, obtained has water permeability 2356.68 L/h m2 bar, pore size range 0–4.5 μm, excellent chemical resistance acidic basic media. Finally, performance was evaluated by filtration methylene blue. results indicate that are suitable precursors manufacture for treatment wastewater.
