ABSTRACT
Surgical aortic valve replacement has been the mainstay of treatment against severe insufficiency despite high incidence prosthesis-related complications and better long-term outcomes following repair. Annuloplasty leaflet reconstruction are integral parts procedure. Safety efficacy HAART internal annuloplasty ring hereby investigated through mid-term a single referral center. Forty-three consecutive patients with either trileaflet or bicuspid along ascending aorta and/or root enlargement were included. Annular stabilization via implantation was attempted, whereas repair performed whenever required. Maximum follow-up 6.3 years, mean 2.7 years. Mean age 54.2 At least moderate noted in 69.8% (30/43) patients, 93% (40/43) them had an over 45 mm. Overall mortality 2.3% (1/43). No more than mild detected early postoperatively. last follow-up, there 2 cases ring-related adverse events who reoperated for (4.7%). Mid-term revealed no insufficiency, while diameter less 50 mm vast majority patients. New York Heart Association class also significantly lower compared to preoperatively, although stenosis present 16% our cohort. Geometric is easily reproducible valve-sparing approach. Midterm results, revealing 95.3% freedom from reoperation, promising, but yet be discovered.
