ABSTRACT
To test a methodology to evaluate, at population level, the effectiveness of homeopathic treatment through standard objective public health indicators. Indicators hospitalization and drug use were obtained from Health Statistical Documentation System Tuscany for two centers in Local Authority Pisa, Italy. We compared users with general same area by comparing patients before after treatment. The used less drugs than reference population, this effect was more evident repeated consultations. A significant decrease found on Hospitalization indicators tended favour who had received but not always statistically significant. This paper demonstrates new methodological approach assess therapeutic modality, without ad-hoc clinical trials. can be institutions which non-conventional medicines are integrated into care system.
