ABSTRACT
We aimed to investigate the indications for Carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9), carbohydrate 125 (CA-125), 15-3 (CA15-3) and carcinoembryogenic (CEA) tumor biomarkers, less commonly used in children, their association with patients diagnosed childhood cancers. The study include aged 0-18 who had CA 19-9, CA-125, CEA biomarker assessments at Adana City Training Research Hospital (ACTRH) between 01.11.2022 01.11.2023. values were recorded from routinely collected serum/blood samples of patients. relationship biomarkers cancers was evaluated. included 211 Out patients, 145 (68.7%) female, 66 (31.3%) male. Malignancy detected 35 (16.6%). There no statistically significant observed 15-3, positivity detection malignancy. respective p-values found be (p=0.711, p= 0.533, p=0.573). A CA-125 malignancy (p=0.002). Tumor markers alone are not sufficient making a definitive diagnosis or determining treatment decisions. However further comprehensive studies needed conventional
