ABSTRACT
Abstract In this paper, experiments are carried out to obtain convective heat transfer coefficients of turbulent flow and transition flow of molten Hitec salts in a circular tube. The present experimental data together with experimental data of four kinds of molten salts from the existing literature are correlated for transitional and turbulent convective flow respectively. In addition, the Prandtl number dependence of convective heat transfer with different working fluids is examined. It is shown that the present experimental data are in good agreement with existing correlations.
