ABSTRACT
In this work, new green and fully biodegradable composites, based on corn starch, plasticized with two different amounts of isosorbide filled by poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) microparticles, were obtained melt processing. The analysis their morphologies, crystallinity, structural interactions dynamomechanical properties as well the evaluation moisture resistance biodegradability in soil, performed function plasticizer and/or microparticle amount. morphology, crystallinity showed that plasticization process was completed under melting processing conditions used. microparticles homogeneously dispersed thermoplastic starch matrix without suffering any deformation or breaking during Biocomposites adequate storage modulus values obtained, especially TPS 35% 5 wt% PHBV microparticles. incorporation leads to biocomposites higher resistance. All completely biodegraded soil a short period time. study demonstrated these could be used for applications packaging industry.
