ABSTRACT
A significant number of coronary artery disease patients do not attain guideline recommended LDL levels. Participating in a cardiac rehabilitation (CR) program has been shown to improve adherence medical therapy.Evaluate the specific lipid lowering therapy (LLT) prescribed and percent subjects achieving levels <70 mg/dL before after 3 months following CR initiation. From May 2017 April 2019, we prospectively recruited referred our compared 1015 them at 4 time points; (P1) just prior index hospitalization, (P2) during (P3) upon entering program, roughly (P4) into program. Included analysis were parameters levels, dispensed medication given, as well patient treatment. Results: At intake, goals partially achieved with 57% below 70 mg/dL. After completion CR, 63% had mg/dL, despite fact that majority (95%) high-dose potent statins. Aside from found no other independent predictors for attaining 6 months.A treatment gap is present even selected population participating vast receiving LLT. In order goals, need intensify LLT treatment, increase therapy.
