ABSTRACT
To describe the incidence of thromboembolic events in adult patients with severe COVID-19 and identify clinical laboratory factors associated these events.Observational retrospective cohort study 243 admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU) at a Brazilian tertiary hospital. The all was 14.8%, which 3.8% developed deep vein thrombosis, 7.8% pulmonary embolism, 2.5% acute myocardial infarction, 1.2% stroke, peripheral artery occlusion. Risk identified were D-dimer admission >3000 ng/mL (P=<0.0013) major bleeding (P=0.001). The cumulative risk developing day 28 after ICU 16.0%. rate 4.1%. After receiver operating characteristic curve analysis, cut-off correlating 1140.5 ng/mL.The our lower than previously described. High level leading factor; optimal ng/mL. occurrence did not have impact on median overall survival rate. anticoagulant strategy this context still needs be established.
