ABSTRACT
Invasive group B Streptococcal disease (iGBS) is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in neonates for which the development efficacious vaccine remains a global health imperative. The knowledge about serotype distribution iGBS component formulation Capsular polysaccharide (CPS)-based vaccine. However, there were absolute lack information on invasive GBS isolates from Indian subcontinent. Methods This study has assessed antimicrobial susceptibility profile streptococcal period 13 years 2009 to 2022 tertiary care Center South India. A total 155 subjected serotyping by conventional multiplex PCR identification all ten serotype. Antimicrobial demographic details extracted microbiological records. Results Overall, most common causing Ia (29%), V (26%), III (15%), II (12%), VI (6%), VII (5%) Ib (5%). Serotypes IV, VIII XI not detected. Among early-onset iGBS, (36%), (27%), (8%). In late onset Serotype (44%) was predominant. adults (31%) (20%). All susceptible penicillin (100%), but clindamycin erythromycin 72% 80% respectively. Conclusion Group India suggest that hexavalent CPS will cover only 90% among infants Continued surveillance monitoring resistance patterns are warranted make public interventions.
