ABSTRACT
Bilateral femoral neck fractures can occur due to high- or low-energy trauma, in the presence of various predisposing factors, such as osteoporosis, renal osteodystrophy, hypocalcemic seizures, primary metastatic tumors, electroconvulsive therapy, epileptic and hormonal disorders.This report presents a case bilateral that occurred during an attack 24-year-old male with mental retardation. His complaints had started after grand mal 10 days earlier. displaced (Garden type 4) were seen lateral radiographs both hips. The patient was operated on urgently, closed reduction, three stainless steel cannulated screws, internal fixation applied At postoperative week 12, solid joining achieved active walking complete loading started.Bilateral following epilepsy young patients. use antiepileptic drugs also lead development pathological by reducing bone mineral density.Femoral should be suspected patients who present severe pain hips inability walk. Stainless implants used for treatment. viability head evaluated scintigraphy. Bone density monitored anti-epileptic drugs, is preferred treatment fractures.
