ABSTRACT
Splenic pseudoaneurysms (SPA) are a rare but serious sequela of blunt traumatic injury to the spleen. Management adult splenic trauma is well-studied, however, in children, management much less well-defined.A 15 year-old male presented with severe abdominal pain acute onset after sustaining his left side while playing football. FAST was positive for free fluid abdomen. Initial abdomen CT demonstrated grade III/IV laceration moderate large hemoperitoneum no active extravasation or vessels noted. A follow-up angiography hypervascular structure suspicious small pseudoaneurysm. arteriogram which multiple arising from second order artery branches angioembolized and treated.Questions still remain regarding timing repeat imaging diagnosis SPA following non-operative trauma, patients should be imaged, how manage upon diagnosis. More clinical study basic science research warranted disease process pediatric patient. We believe that our proposed algorithm timely detect formation delayed addresses possible fatal course SPA.
