ABSTRACT
Subcutaneous implantation of thyroid tissue is a rare clinical condition that involves the head and neck region occurs after surgery, diagnostic procedures or cervical trauma.A 90-year old woman with two skin nodules on her thyroidectomy scar was hospitalized treated by surgical excisions. Histologically, these lesions were aggregates cutaneous oncocytic cells. In patient's history there total for multinodular goiter, performed 9 years previously at which well-encapsulated subcapsular adenoma left lobe also incidentally discovered. At 12 months follow-up, patient showed well wounds healed.Subcutaneous colonization seeding occurrence reported in literature both benign malignant pathologies; among ones, follicular carcinoma cells most frequent. Only one previous case, to our knowledge, subcutaneous originating from (or Hurthle) cell neoplasms has been described.We report an unusual case double elderly woman, nine thyroidectomy.
