ABSTRACT
Primary Synovial chondromatosis is a rare disease characterized by metaplastic cartilaginous nodules originating from the synovium, which rarely involves ankle joint. To date, there has been limited number of reported cases regarding arthroscopic treatment this disease, can be attributed to its incidence. This article aims illuminate advantages and challenges technique presenting case study. Furthermore, we delve into existing literature assess different treatments used for their outcomes. A 59-year-old male patient presented with pain, swelling dorsiflexion. Subsequent imaging findings led diagnosis anterior primary synovial chondromatosis. Following this, underwent assisted loose body removal partial synovectomy, conducted via anteromedial anterolateral portals. During five-year follow-up period, no recurrence was observed, American Orthopedic Foot Ankle Score (AOFAS) assessed as 88. Given uncommon occurrence standardized approach established in literature. While many researchers advocate surgical intervention alleviate symptoms prevent potential complications like osteoarthritis malignancy, exists diversity perspectives concerning specific strategies techniques employ. Partial synovectomy using arthroscopy portals demonstrate notably efficacious low-risk addressing affecting chamber ankle.
