ABSTRACT
The objective of this work was to perform the techno-economic analysis for integration two post-combustion carbon capture technologies into cement plants, namely monoethanolamine (MEA) scrubbing-based and silica-alkoxylated polyethyleneimine (SPEI) adsorbent-based processes. key performance indicators were investigated, including emission abatement, energy performance, break-even selling price, CO2 avoidance cost. technical evaluation showed that conventional MEA SPEI-based processes required 3.53 GJ/tonne 2.36 regeneration when achieving 90% rate, respectively. In addition, specific primary consumption avoided estimated at 6.5 MEA-based 4.3 process. costs 61.4 49.8 €/tonne CO2, Meanwhile, cost SPEI 84.7 62.2 economic indicated clinker production increased by 108% with solvent-based 84% However, in case, maximum heat 53.9 MWth is recovered from reference plant, both would be reduced. decrease 48.0 35.6 Additionally, reduced 57.5 44.5
