ABSTRACT
The aims of this randomised controlled laboratory trial were to determine the procedure time and immediate quality (surface porosity marginal gaps) fillings placed using bulk-fill base technique conventional incremental in simulated clinical settings.Forty-two dentists dental students randomly allocated use either or fill an identical class II disto-occlusal cavity a maxillary left first molar typodont tooth. We recorded participants used evaluated surface gaps on approximal surfaces stereomicroscope specific probes according FDI criteria for restoration evaluation. Data analysed Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis, chi-square tests. The median ± interquartile range was 186 80 s 463 156 (p < 0.001). better than (X2 = 9.5, p 0.002). Neither operator experience nor usual choice associated with fillings.Compared technique, shortened by 59.8 % 4 min 36 s, it improved fillings, regardless operator's preference. The instead leads significant time-savings when placing large composite fillings. Additionally, improves
