ABSTRACT
Can transparency interventions improve WASH service provision? We use a randomized experiment to evaluate the impacts of intervention, deliberative multi-stakeholder workshop initiated with community scorecard exercise, in schools rural Bangladesh. To measure impacts, we combine survey data, direct observations, and administrative data. The intervention leads moderate but consistent improvements knowledge standards practices, institutions for management, does not school provision or change facility patterns. Drawing on rich descriptive suggest several reasons why did outcomes propose ways design future interventions.
