ABSTRACT
Isthmin-1 (Ism-1) is a newly identified insulin-like adipokine that increases glucose uptake by adipocytes and inhibits hepatic lipid synthesis. Recent studies have shown Ism-1 can improve the metabolic disorders associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) metabolism. The classic function of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) to transport from extra-hepatic tissues liver for In contrast, metabolism inflammation are leading causes atherosclerosis (As). Atherosclerosis often manifests as loss elasticity, accumulation, fibrous tissue proliferation calcium deposits in affected arteries, eventually forming plaques. To illustrate correlation between HDL-C T2DM, relationship carotid plaque.A total 128 patients T2DM were enrolled study basic information was collected. levels measured chemically. Serum using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Linear regression analysis used assess serum T2DM. Basic again collected 226 Independent sample t-tests performed explore plaque formation lipids.HDL-C divided into four groups according quartiles there between-group difference (p = 0.040). Multivariable linear showed negative association (β -0.235, p < 0.001), even after adjusting related factors -0.165, 0.009). Low-density (LDL-C) significant differences group non-carotid (pLDL-C 0.007, pHDL-C 0.003).Serum negatively correlated LDL-C significantly higher than group, while lower group.
