ABSTRACT
The usage of bioceramic-based root canal sealers has escalated over the years due to their excellent properties. present study aimed fabricate a novel algin incorporated bioactive glass 58S calcium-silicate (Bio-G) sealer and characterise its surface microstructure chemical compositions in comparison commercially available bioceramic (BioRoot RCS iRoot SP).The powder form experimental Bio-G consisted synthesised BG particle, calcium silicate, zirconia dioxide, carbonate alginic acid as binder. liquid composed 5% chloride solution. Five standardised disc specimens were prepared for each group according manufacturer's instructions. Subsequently, disc-specimens placed an incubator at 37 °C, 95% relative humidity 72 h allow setting prior testing under scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), Fourier transformed infrared (FTIR) diffraction (XRD).Experimental revealed irregular micro-sized particles ranging from 0.5 μm 105 aggregated clusters comparable those BioRoot SP. EDS microanalysis showed that had high content oxygen, silicon, calcium, with presence aluminium similar RCS. Meanwhile, FTIR XRD findings suggested all predominantly contained silicate hydrate, carbonate, zirconium while oxide was detected Bio-G.The demonstrated desirable particle size distribution acceptable degree purity. Future studies are warranted explore properties clinical application.
