ABSTRACT
Though the gold standard method for mandible reconstruction of defect from segmental mandibulectomy is by osseous flap or graft, using plates still indicated in some cases. Traditionally, plate bended immediately after freehand. However, it's difficult to fit well original position mandible, which may result more complications. This study therefore aimed investigate whether prebent on computer-aided 3D printing models could reduce complication rate. Patients who received 2018 2022 were enrolled and evaluated this study. The data, including demographics, indications surgery, pre-existed preoperative postoperative therapies, classification defects, outcomes collected analyzed. A total 52 patients our group exhibited a significantly lower rate than that bent (P = 0.012). Other risk factors complications included adjuvant radiotherapy 0.017) previous surgery 0.047). complication-free survival was also better 3-year follow-up period Prebent proved be an effective approach mandibular mandibulectomy.
