ABSTRACT
Although the incidence of ulcerative colitis (UC) increases every year, there is still a lack satisfactory treatment options. Anemone chinensis Bunge (AB), traditional Chinese herb, potent compound that can be prepared as decoction, and then administered an enema to relieve UC symptoms. However, therapeutic effect mechanisms aqueous AB on are unknown. This study investigates potential value mechanism for UC.First, practical components in were extracted identified by UPLC-MS/MS. Second, active targets target genes related predicted, mapped, analyzed network pharmacology. Then, effects assessed using dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced model with mice. Finally, level inflammation, expression proteins associated colonic mucosal barrier, microbiota intestinal investigated.Fourteen ingredients identified. The pharmacology-based analysis demonstrated possibly affected ten key targets, such IL-6, TNF, PTGS2. They also tight junction ZO-1, occludin, claudin-1. Furthermore, mice treated DSS developed severe colitis. decreased disease activity index (DAI), significantly inhibited damage, greatly colon length shortening (p < 0.05). restored mucin mucin-2 (MUC2) mucin-3A (MUC3A). In addition, diversity gut after administration was decreased. entirely treatment. Recovery abundance bacteria, especially Lactobacillus reuteri gasseri, occurred at species vitro, utilized two under glucose deficiency. Our alleviated restoring barrier regulating microbiota.
