ABSTRACT
Mung bean is shown having several health benefits, but a little bit of knowledge known about its effects on high-fat diet (HFD)-induced obesity or relationship with gut microbiota composition changes. Here, it was observed that consumption HFD supplemented cooked mung (30%, w/w) for 12 weeks effectively alleviated body weight gain and lipid metabolic disorders, which accompanied by decrease in hepatic steatosis adipocyte size. Furthermore, high-throughput sequencing 16S rRNA revealed supplementation prevented the HFD-induced dysbiosis, likely associated decreased relative abundance HFD-dependent taxa (Ruminiclostridium_9, Mucispirillum, Bilophila, Blautia, Ruminiclostridium, Odoribacter), increased norank_f__Muribaculaceae. Spearman's correlation analysis indicated those genera were closely correlated obesity-related indices. Collectively, prevention at least partially mediated structural modulation microbiota.
