Entrepreneurial intention of sports students in the higher education context - Can gender make a difference?

Entrepreneurship has been indicated as a fundamental approach to solve number of social and economic problems. For that reason, it is important understand the factors influence entrepreneurial intention, particularly at moments in life when people have make decisions about their careers. This study aims analyse intention higher education students, area sport, whether this affected by gender. A quantitative was carried out, applying questionnaire 332 students on Sport degree courses provided institutions Portugal. The results indicate confidence are positive regarding capacities competences, they greatly attracted career option willing take risks associated with activity. Analysing according gender, male show greater interest being entrepreneurs, more skills competences than females. Concerning value society gives career, dimension found negative women's intention. result no surprise, does not yet look favourably female idea persisting for men. Therefore, suggests reflecting entrepreneurship need update curricula field aiming contribute rates entrepreneurship, among women.
