ABSTRACT
Achieving high maize yields and efficient phosphorus (P) use with limited environmental impacts is one of the greatest challenges in sustainable production. Increasing plant density considered an effective approach for achieving yields. However, low mobility P soils scarcity natural resources have hindered development methods that can simultaneously optimize mitigate P-related footprint at densities. In this study, a meta-analysis substance flow analysis was conducted to evaluate effects different types mineral fertilizer on yield varying densities assess from rock phosphate mining production China. A significantly higher obtained than lower The application single super-phosphate, triple calcium magnesium resulted smaller diammonium monoammonium phosphate. Our scenario analyses suggest combining optimal type rate could increase by 22%. Further, resource efficiency throughout supply chain increased 39%, whereas decreased 33%. Thus, optimizing achieved multiple objectives during production, indicating management cropping techniques practical These findings offer strategic, synergistic options agricultural development.
