ABSTRACT
The eye lens is a specialized organ of the visual system, which transparent due to its complex geometry and unique protein composition. Nature has designed it focus light on retina throughout life span. Several factors (post-translational modifications, thermal solar radiations) causes aggregation proteins result in early-onset cataract. A cataract one major blindness worldwide. It's interesting how camel eyes maintain transparency harsh desert climate? lenses contain novel zeta (ζ)-crystallin bulk amount that also present two other animals (guinea pig Japanese frog) but adopted for milder habitats. ζ-crystallin poorly characterized protein. This study investigated physicochemical structural properties camel, guinea pig, frog's ζ-crystallin. docking results showed strong affinity between NADPH RMSD, RMSF, radius gyration, SASA analysis ligand-free bound states distinct prope6rties these ζ-crystallins. Moreover, hydrophobicity frog lower than mammalian sources. taxon-specific are likely transparency.
