ABSTRACT
Forkhead box transcription factors have been shown to be involved in various developmental and differentiation processes. In particular, members of the FoxP family previously characterized depth for their participation regulation lung neuronal cell T-cell development function; however, role adipocyte functionality has not yet investigated. Here, we report first time that P4 (FoxP4) is expressed at high levels subcutaneous fat depots mature thermogenic adipocytes. Through molecular gene expression analyses, revealed FoxP4 induced response stimuli, both vivo isolated cells, regulated directly by heat shock factor protein 1 through a element identified proximal promoter region FoxP4. Further detailed analysis involving chromatin immunoprecipitation luciferase assays demonstrated controls uncoupling 1, key regulator thermogenesis uncouples fatty acid oxidation from ATP production. addition, our gain-of-function loss-of-function studies, showed regulates number classic brown beige genes affects oxygen consumption Overall, data demonstrate novel functionality.
