ABSTRACT
As a novel metastable β titanium alloy, Ti-6Mo-5V-3Al-2Fe, it is essential to establish the correlation among its microstructure, strength and ductility. In this paper, transmission electron microscope (TEM) scanning (SEM) were used observe secondary α phase (αs) of aged alloy. The ductility alloy characterized by room temperature tensile test. dependence on αs was investigated. Results indicate that minimum width spacing within grains can be obtained after being at 470°C for 4h. increase aging time, average increase. A relational equation precipitation strengthening length established analyze mechanism. It demonstrated plays predominant role in exhibits poor due formation continuous grain boundaries (GB α). After 620°C 4h, Widmansta¨tten nucleates along grows toward matrix (WGB combination widening WGB obviously improves
